ECG wins Encore Crystal Award at annual CGX Emerge 2012 conference
Emerald City Graphics is pleased to announce that it took home an Encore Crystal Award at April’s Encore Awards ceremony, a Consolidated Graphics Emerge event that recognizes unique and creative uses of print technologies.
The award recognizes Emerald City Graphics for its work in Books & Annual Reports, one of nine total award categories, with its submission of Eddie Vedder: Ukulele Songs. The 106-page song book teaches the ukulele chords of Eddie Vedder’s album, Ukulele Songs. The book was designed and distributed by Monkeywrench Records.
Eddie Vedder: Ukulele Songs is a Smyth sewn, case-bound book with a sage green cloth cover. The front cover, back cover and spine were debossed using a black matte foil. The text was printed on 100# text using 4/C Process + 1 PMS. The edges of the books were stained dark green and a black ribbon affixed as a bookmark. On the inside back cover of the book a string and button CD sleeve is attached, in which a copy of Eddie Vedder’s Ukulele Songs CD is contained.
Along with bringing home an Encore Crystal Award, ECG was nominated for awards in two additional categories. Darigold’s "Ladies of the Field," a farm-friendly pinup-styled calendar featuring a cow-of-the-month, appropriately named Ms. January through Ms. December, was nominated for the award in the General category. The Guildhouse Group was nominated as a finalist for the Figgins Family Wine Estates - Leonetti Allocation Brochure.
Emerald City Graphics, having secured three finalist nominations out of 27, was the second most nominated company at the Encore Crystal Awards. .
